WE CAN DO IT!

Also it is called “Rosie the Riveter” the “We Can Do It” poster by J. Howard Miller is widely popular today and is an icon for the Feminist Movement. The poster was a cultural icon and it was made to show support for the women in the war. It focuses on the women who worked in the Manufacturing plants in the 1940s. It showed the women’s economic power that they had while other men were at war. The main imagery is the women holder up her arm and showing her strength. The poster was supposed to persuade women into getting into the work force. The model for the poster being Geraldine Doyle, this poster has made more of an impact on society than any other poster from WWII, especially because it is still very popular today and still used to support the feminist movement.
